The type of images I view as art is the sort of work that has clearly had thought put into it, and in which both technical and inventive abilities is obvious. The most gorgeous portrait and landscape photographs have clearly not just been ‘snapped’ with a camera cellphone. If we take the above paragraph at face value, it’s difficult to see where photography would match into this analogy.
